Working Drawing -'A Disappearance - Mystery Timelines I & II'

This working drawing was recently selected for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Working Drawing Award; it develops the timeline of a current project creating adventures in painting and narrative, interrogating through different media issues of identity, metamorphosis and change, ideas I particularly developed during a recent residency in Greece. The work is underpinned by a mystery thriller written with the support of Arts Council England, ‘The Disappearance of Makepeace - A Tale of Two Lives’, tracing the relationship of Eustace and Makepeace from their first childhood meeting to their final, fatal encounter. It is a story of disappearance, loss and discovery, and of the adventure in becoming an artist.
