Y Pwll- Dinas Emrys

A group show- 'Curious Travellers' made in collaboration with the University of Wales, Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies ,Aberystwyth.The work is a response to Thomas Pennant's 'Tour of Wales'and specifically to the land and hillfort of Dinas Emrys in Snowdonia. This place was closely connected in history and legend to Merlin and the legend from which the origins of the Welsh Dragon began. The work was made using collected red earths from the land and is based on the pool -'Y Pwll' where the red and white dragons of the Britons and the Saxons are meant to have fought.
