I am a contemporary artist based at Yorkshire Artspace, Sheffield. Since 2010 I have utilised a range of socially engaged and collaborative artistic strategies to explore our relationship with science, nature and heritage. Where possible I aim to work on projects that lead to tangible social and/or environmental benefits.

My work involves various creative methodologies including drawing, painting, film and Virtual Reality/Immersive Art. I often work in collaboration with other creatives including writers and filmmakers/designers, enabling me to enrich and expand my artistic vocabulary and reinforce the conceptual frameworks for my work. I have also sought to test the relationship between ideas of illustration and text - using poetic imagery in conjunction with both abstract and representational elements - and through references to the graphic language of academic textbooks.

Since 2009 I have worked with universities throughout the UK, artistically engaging with cutting edge research and offering unique approaches to creative public engagement.

My work has featured in publications including Nature Morte: Contemporary Artists Reinvigorate the Still-life Tradition (Thames and Hudson 2013).

Outstanding achievements so far include: winner of the Eyestorm Gallery Award for painting (Exeter Contemporary Open 2007) and selection for Leverhulme Trust Residency, Cardiff University (2011).

My work as lead artist with the Cardiff University CAER Heritage Project has won the NCCPE Engage Award 2014, Times Higher Education Award 2017 (Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community) and Marsh Award for Community Archaeology 2021.
