Tina Rogers

Wrexham
Cross platform Visual Artist

Tina is a disabled, working class, self-taught, emerging artist from a small mining village in North Wales.
Her current work explores body image and her lived experience as a disabled woman through language and figurative work challenging perceptions in the representation of the female body.
Through an almost subconscious process, images unfold on the page referencing biographical memories, ideas, fantasy and her response.
Tina sometimes applies collage and text that connects to a particular visual image and employs a wide variety of techniques to explore this through oils, acrylics, drawing inks, pens, and a variety of mixed media.

Tina is an advisor to Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) and is the lead artist for Pobl Y Ffin (People of the Border), a community Arts collective based in North Wales who are creating an artistic (Art, Music, Poetry, performance) response to the history of the post-industrial mining Village of Chirk (Her home town).
She is the lead artist on ‘F A T’ with photographer Roy Barry, a contributor to CWLWM magazine with Dylan Moore, and is currently working with several galleries in Wales on ‘Creativity is Mistakes’, a collaborative project between disabled artists and visual arts organisations in Wales. This project centres the voices, talents and lived experiences of disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent visual artists in developing innovative models for collective access in the visual arts.
