Matilde Mozzanega Jewellery
Modern Wellness Talismans for Everyday Rituals
Milanese designer Matilde Mozzanega explores the intersection between wellness and healing with her eponymous jewellery label, founded in 2018. A classically trained jeweller, Sarabande Foundation resident and graduate of Central Saint Martins, her evocative collections represent a fascinating study between the relationship between personal adornments, self-care, healing and wellness – a modern take on the ancient tradition of
jewellery worn as healing talismans.
CHROMO-DOPE is Matilde’s debut jewellery collection, a portfolio that embodies the precious affiliation jewellery has maintained with wellness, healing and self-care through the ages. Matilde’s motivation for this collection is anchored in two narratives that join the past with the future; the time-honoured fable of jewellery as a healing talisman and crystal healing lore, partnered with rise of mental health transparency in modern times. A jewellery collection designed as a personal remedy and wellness practice, CHROMO-DOPE offers the clean and clinical aesthetics of cosmetic packaging and pills, paired with fine British and Italian craftmanship and unexpected materials.
Stones and 3-D printed jewels in fresh and joyous hues can be swapped out within rings, earrings and necklaces, meaning the wearer can change the stones daily as a ritual of intuitive self-care - depending on mood or instinct. The customisation of these jewels is designed to resemble the repeat consumption of a personal remedy; a reminder of the importance of maintain daily rituals as an act of mental self-care.
By placing the same medicinal importance of remedies onto personal jewels, Matilde aims to contribute to the evolving conversation around current social themes of depression, anxiety
and managing mental health.
