Concepts The subject matter of my work is the 'interior' and its objects and structures. Tables, chairs and staircases together with domestic objects, bowls, jugs, coffee-pots are used in conjunction with projected light or video to explore our own interior worlds of memory and imagination. The solid domestic furnishings might represent the contents of the conscious mind which is occasionally irradiated by some source - from the outside, from nature, or perhaps from the unconscious - which transforms the view. A recent video installation, 'Nocturne', in which a large table bearing carved vessels is traversed in real time by a video projection of the full moon creating ever-changing shadow combinations, marks a new interest in combining the forms of outer space with domestic imagery, which I am also exploring in charcoal drawings.Influences Architecture/Urban Environment, Environment/Ecology, Feminism,Career path MA in Fine Art, UCE, Birmingham, 1993 Current 0.5 Lecturer in Sculpture at the University of Wolverhampton (since 1998) Currently undertaking a series of public sculpture commissions for Centro, the passenger transport executive for the West Midlands (2001-03) Participated in the 2nd and 3rd International Ice-Carving Competition in Vaasa, Finland, 2002 and 2003 Participated in International Sculpture Symposia, Lake Vyrnwy, Wales, 2002 and 2003, work sited on Lake Vyrnwy Sculpture Trail Group Show: 'Sensing Sculpture', Wolverhampton Art Gallery, 2003 I have had numerous solo and group shows regionally and nationally since 1981 and have undertaken numerous commissions and residences regionally and nationally during the same period.
