'An indescribable essence…'

By  James Eddy 2015
'An indescribable essence…' is a sculpture installation created in collaboration with artist Sophie Capron, whose stunning paintings can be seen surrounding the sculpture. Curated by Vivienne Gillard, the exhibition was a group show of four artists representing Cornwall and four artists representing the Isle of Man, at the Inter Celtic festival in Lorient , Brittany. The sculpture follows a similar tradition to that expressed in Zen gardens, in that they are designed for contemplation and meditation. In this case the work was designed for contemplating how the natural environment, particularly the Sea and bleak landscapes characteristic of all Celtic countries. And how it profoundly influences the people who live there, shaping and creating culture and tradition.
