Ancient Course of Mersey

By Tim Pugh 2009

'Ancient Course of Mersey' is a mixed media design sheet documenting historical features associated with geological changes to the coastline of Merseyside. The artwork focuses on former lost features such as the ancient Mersey lake and the greatly extended coastline, before sea erosion changed the physical boundaries forever. The work was shown in Liverpool as part of a group show and as well as documenting the evolution of a coastline, also functions as a reminder that we could witness further land loss to the encroaching sea.
