"Beach Pigment Make-Up Palette "

By Tim Pugh 2018
The temporary beach intervention drawing was sketched on a smooth boulder on South Beach,Whitehaven,West Cumbria in July 2018.I had the idea to sketch out a make up palette and replace the colours with pebble pigments rubbed into the circles. The locally gathered pebbles were a mixture of man made products associated with the nearby presence of an old beach colliery. The vivid colours are a reflection of the waste products dumped on the shoreline many years ago and ground down smooth by the action of the waves.
