Blue Boat Passing

Many of us have lost friends and family in 2020/21 not only through Covid, but other illnesses as well. This was made in memory of a family friend who died last autumn, and who had lived in a blue boat. It is part of the blue series that has been ongoing during the pandemic, characterised by painting with lapis lazuli, chalk, Egyptian blue, watercolour and oak gall ink and earth colours on Khadi paper.

Experiencing the landscape: Art on the East Devon Way

This is another work from the ongoing 'Correspondences' series, exploring aspects of the digital world, particularly the internet. It's a larger painting than those I previously made using similar, almost 'Pointillist' or 'Divisionist' methods, and the subject matter is to do with a specific connection with a film.
