Installation to celebrate 175th anniversary of the birth of author Lewis Carroll. Born in Daresbury, Cheshire, his Father was Vicar of All Saints Church where the installation took place. Constructed from individually threaded corn stalks the work referenced Carroll's writing about his birthplace, surrounded by 'broad seas of corn', and invited visitors to 'look up to food' in this Alice in Wonderland inspired floating cornfield.
The sub-images show related images of the overall Lewis Carroll project which is ongoing and will include a new purpose built interpretation centre. This has funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other public funders. The artist has also created a 'Breathing Place' garden in the Churchyard which was funded by the BBC / Big Lottery and is for people and wildlife to share.
