Dog Only Knows is an artist book developed through repeated underground mine walks in the North Pennines. The work draws parallels between descent into a lead mine and the bodily, temporal experience of illness and recovery. Made with handmade paper, found materials, and bound in lead, the book carries both physical weight and symbolic density. Pages incorporate fragments gathered through walking and underground observation, functioning as tactile records of endurance, vulnerability, and attention. The book operates as a quiet, embodied narrative in which geological depth, bodily memory, and emotional survival become entangled.
