Hostile Landscape

By Ann Goddard 2015

Materials: cotton noils, bristles, wire, concrete

Techniques: felted cotton paper making, paper manipulation, mould making, concrete casting

Part of a body of work exploring human impact on nature by concreting over the landscape. The 9 units allude to paving slabs. The cotton fibre seed forms landing on these eventually become embedded and disappear. The juxtaposition between the soft seeds and the hard concrete aims to emphasise the vulnerability of nature.
