Interior Studies 2010-23

A series of maquettes of imaginary landscapes originally started from collaging the trimmings and creative residues of drawings. They incorporate a range of references from 20th Paul Nash and De Chiro - to 18-19th c Romantic landscape paintings, influences on my painting practice over the years. The series has an interchangeable relationship with different sculptural props in front of the drawings, like a rotating cast of characters and backdrops that are returned to and embellished over time.
