Menstrual fluid & honey contained within glass vials.
This work challenges perceptions of body fluids. The juxtaposition of the sweet honey (originally an internal body fluid of a bee) with menstrual fluid suggests a discord in our attitudes towards our own bodies and the bodies of other species. I found it interesting to consider how the body matter of another could be considered food, yet our own abjection repulses us. Contained within the vial a hybrid of body fluids seems to create a dream-like landscape - drawing our minds to the internal worlds existing within the body. Whilst we all occupy the space of body it is ultimately unfamiliar and a site of unease for many of us.
