Nature Inspired Paintings

By  Adam Grose 2023
This is a painting exploring a range of markmaking using tools from the building trade. The images are inspired from nature, as I walk and cycle around my local area, looking and observing nature, forming a range of sketches and drawings to work on back in my studio. Through a combination of the sketches made and the memories of the time making them and my thoughts about nature, I use a variety of human made tools associated with the building trade, made mainly from plastics, metals and alloys fashioned from material taken from the landscape, to form these acrylic paintings, skimming, dragging, pulling, scoring, etching and applying paint to the canvas surface, allowing elements of chance and intention to form the image. These are a new departure for me, away from the usual work I create, so it will be interesting to see how these develop over time as I continue to work with this style and method of producing work.?
