Night Swimming

Large mixed media painting on linen. Oils, pigment and holographic glitter on hand stretched canvas. 180 x 130cm. 

This work explores family history through an interpretation of an archival photograph taken by my son aged 5. His camera holding shadow can be seen at the front of the painting documenting the rest of the family. NIght swimming refers to dreams and liminal spaces of vibrational energy. Since the death of my later husband (far left) I seek his presence through the materials and flow of my practise.
