‘Offerings’ for Holden Gallery

An installation of suspended woven sculptures. Overview. Vintage and second hand garments including 1950s handmade gowns, St Michael petticoats, negligees and clothing from artists own wardrobe. Grey satin faced ribbon. Thread. Steel tacks and pins. Following its initial launch at the Saatchi Gallery, London, ‘Offerings’ was re-worked and re-installed for the 62 Group exhibition ‘62@50’ at the Holden Gallery Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester (16 July-17 August 2012). 62@50 was part of The 62 Groups 50th Anniversary year of programmed events for 2012. The installation development was documented via an on line blog - www.lucybrownmakes.wordpress.com 'Offerings' for The Holden Gallery was supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and The Theo Moorman Trust for Weavers.
