Resonator

By  Martin Heron 2022

Martin Heron

Sculpture commissioned by Roscommon County Council for The Pleasure Grounds, Boyle, Roscommon, Ireland. Resonator has been made in response to the Steinway Grand Piano that sits in the Main Salon in King House, Boyle. The sculptural form takes a shell-like shape, it echos a piano keyboard which has evolved into a carapace-like structure. The shell form has fossil links, it feels prehistoric, primordial, we envisage a creature drawn from the sea, we hear ocean and river sounds and are drawn to them.
