"Snowcone"

By  Tim Pugh 2018
The temporary snow installation was created on the slopes of Dent,a small hill near Cleator Moor in West Cumbria in January 2017.There was enough snow to create a striking vertical snow pillar in visual contrast to the soft horizontal lines of the background hillsides. The artwork was sited on a tree stump overlooking the Fells for dramatic effect and took four hours of persistent slog to create.I had many conversations with passing walkers with the main danger of collapse due to dogs attempting to investigate the structure. The pillar was approximately four foot tall and survived no longer than a day due to a thaw after a prolonged cod snap.
