Storm

By Anna Masters 2014

DPhotos

This suspended sculpture uses delicate organic media - rose petals and vintage mounted butterflies - to map out the motion of a hurricane. Based on Chaos Theory, and the idea that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a hurricane, this piece creates a snapshot of an inexplicable moment in time, where the most fragile of materials are causing dramatic change. The piece is protected with a UV protective resin, and UV protected perspex.
