"Surf Tower"

The temporary beach installation was created on South Beach,Whitehaven,West Cumbria in October 2018.The beach has a rich legacy of various natural and man made materials being washed up on the tideline and a previous nights' storm had deposited a large treetrunk on the tideline.I saw scope to create a playfull interaction of natural materials being utilised and built a delicately poised tower of pebbles on the treetrunk. The tower collapsed five times in the wind before it stood long enough to achieve a photographic record and just in time before the tide overwhelmed the structure.
