The Surrogate is a process-led experimental film constructed through recursive cycles of fragmentation and digital recomposition. Footage of a constructed mannequin figure was dismantled into keyframes and reprocessed using AI, producing morphing sequences that destabilise bodily form. The work explores structural fragmentation of the psyche, dissociation, and the tension between authorship and algorithmic unpredictability. The Surrogate operates as a symbolic mediator between inner subjective experience and external representation, bridging the instability between image, body, and self.
