"Ticket Junctions "

The mixed media artwork is comprised of railway tickets adhered to the side of an old railway maintenance hut located next to a dismantled railway line in West Cumbria.The side of the hut acts as a visual space where I arranged a section of the adjacent railway line and junctions ,using old railway tickets I collected,to depict the meandering course.The ticket arrangement also depicts how old railway lines are represented on Ordnance Survey Maps and took 4/5 hours to install.I view the hut as a temporary pop up art space ,and for the future intend to create more artworks related to the areas' past industrial activities.The railway line is now a converted walk/cycle way and I received many positive comments from passing walkers and cyclists.
