"Tideline Bauble "

By  Tim Pugh 2020
The temporary installation was created at South Beach in Whitehaven,West Cumbria in early November 2020.Despite the sense of shock of seeing the tidal conveyor belt of never ending plastic deposited on the beach,I was in a playfull mood creating a giant bauble suspended from a piece of driftwood. The bottletops were found on nearby St Bees beach and the buoy, was discovered on the rocks behind me.Whilst photographing the artwork, two nearby fisherman came up to me and expressed a desire to 'reclaim' the buoy for themselves.I wasn't going to leave it behind so ended up taking it away with me ,walking through the High Street and had quite a few bemused looks when I took it back home on the bus!
