Wrapped

Materials: recycled food tins, ink, deconstructed corrugated cardboard, waxed thread, nuts, bolts Wrapped was selected to be in the Fiber Art Now exhibition Fiber Reimagined and appeared in the Spring 2023 issue of Fiber Art Now magazine, USA. It is a small, wall hung, three-dimensional construction. The abstract form is constructed from cardboard and tin cans, materials used in the packaging of goods and generally being thought of as waste. A variety of processes reveal interesting surfaces qualities giving the piece a Wabi Sabi aesthetic. The textile technique of wrapping was informed by the packaging source of the materials.
