Sarah Feinmann

Manchester
An artist working with painting, collage, printmaking and assemblage.

In my practice, I explore and document neglected or abandoned spaces. I am drawn to the ruined and fragile in the world around me, the out of place and the overlooked.  As photography is both a way to document and inspire my paintings this provides a catalyst between the captured moment and the reinterpretation in the studio.  When exploring these edgeland spaces, I focus on the colour, surfaces, materiality and history that is found there.   The palette of my work has developed from these subtleties of colour and is reflected in the arranged sections of the paintings.
