Artefact III

Artefact III (Remembrance: 11.11.11) explores ideas about how we interpret our understanding of the past, how it re-shapes the present and its implications on our identity. The miniature sculpture explores an underlying reality of the damage inflicted on people and the trauma brought upon the world through conflict in all its guises. This particular piece resonates with the men and women of World War One, The Great War aka the war to end all wars, as well as subconsciously resonating with the paintings of Henry Tonks and later on Francis Bacon.
