da Vinci's Dining Room

By  Irene Rogan 2015
Da Vinci's Salon' uses found materials and is site responsive in an abandoned house, to create an imagined salon inspired by da Vinci's drapery drawings and in acknowledgment of 'the civilizational heritage impact of da Vinci, as described by the Finnish at that time and which at the time of this project there was a celebration of his work in Finland. Da Vinci's Salon is an evolving theatrical installation referencing his work. Found material of red velvet, draped around a long table, chairs, floor and seemingly pours out of the walls, Finally, the artist too is draped in the fabric in emulation of the famous da Vinci drapery drawings an experimental attempt to become part of a work from this great artist.
