"Ore Ball Installation ".

By  Tim Pugh 2016
The temporary installation was created during a cold spell in January 2016 at the site of an old iron ore mine near Egremont in West Cumbria. The artwork is made up of rolled balls of iron ore laden clay and stacked up against metal rods and propped up by branches. The balls were rolled up a few days earlier and left to freeze in the frosty weather so as to ensure they didn't collapse under the collective weight of the artwork. The installation is reminiscent of work I created many years ago for my Degree show at Edinburgh College of Art.
