Scope

By  Steve Messam 2014
A giant kaleidoscope overlooking Windermere. Built on the site of a Roman lookout fort, 'Scope' invites the visitor to look at both the lake and the surrounding landscape in a new way. Built for smartphone cameras, 'Scope' was part of a series of new installations revealing the role the Lake District played in the history of looking at landscapes. Commissioned by Windermere Reflections - a Heritage Lottery funded project by the Environment Agency, and subsequently adopted by South Lakes District Council
