Hanging by a Thread series

By  Ann Goddard 2012

Ann Goddard

A series of four suspended sculptures.

Part of an ongoing body of work exploring the impact of human activity on nature. The cardboard packaging was chosen to reference the potential consequences of its manufacture on the environment. The techniques of tearing and burning allude to the forest clearing method of ‘slash and burn’.

Materials: brown paper packaging, corrugated cardboard, willow, bristles, neoprene cord

Technique: tearing, burning, threading, wrapping
