Nick Malone

Deptford
Nick Malone has exhibited widely, both in the UK and internationally, and his work is represented in a number of significant collections.

I love to cross art forms, exploring the interaction between my ideas, writing and images as palimpsests of text rise through successive veils of paint. Emerging out of real narrative adventures, these works hold in the paint those moments of chance and intent when their stories unfolded. Like pages torn from sketchbooks, they trace, as dissolving and reforming maps, routes where ambiguity and multiple narrative weave through a landscape of inner and outer perception. Offering direct equivalents to material physics and the nature of thought, they seek consensus in their own reality, and are, in their own terms, a form of realism.
